The Waring Commercial Blender MegaMix HPB 300 is a great blender that can be used at home or in a commercial setting like a bar, restaurant, or smoothie place. It offers a powerful one horsepower engine and blades that spin at 27,000 rpm. At such spin rate and power, it can handle almost any difficult, hard to blend ingredients, and pulverize ice. It's meant to blend things fast too, which is ideal for a busy commercial business that needs to crank out the frozen drinks and smoothies. It's also perfect for a mom who's kids don't want to wait more than a couple of seconds for a smoothie.

There were very few reports of engine failures from owners and Waring backs up the engine with a 5 year warranty. The only real complaint about the Waring MegaMix was that it is very noisy. We hear that a lot with blenders that get up over 1 horsepower and there doesn't seem to be much that manufacturers can do about it. The good thing though is that you should only have to keep it running for a short time as it will blend up whatever's in the jar very quickly.

We highly recommend this Waring Commercial Blender for its power, durability, speed, and quality.

The Good

  • Powerful - 1 horsepower certainly gets the job done
  • Easy to clean - the pitcher is dishwasher safe, and you don't need to disassemble the blade housing to clean it.
  • Good pitcher - a strong polycarbonate good for settings where you'll be banging it around a lot and it could be dropped. It's also light and easy to move around.
  • Precise control - the flip switch on the front is simple to operate with high, low, and off settings.
  • Stable - the jar and motor sit on a good, sturdy base.

The Bad

  • Noisy - this blender is loud
  • Top lid - there were some owner reports of this not fitting properly on the top of the jar.

Features

The Waring Commercial blender Megamix model HPB300 is a powerful 1 horsepower blender designed for smoothie shops, professional bars and restaurants, but it is also affordable enough for home use as well. The 2 speed commercial rated motor rocks out at 27,000 rpm for blade spinning speed, which is fast and certainly able to crush ice and tough ingredients quickly and efficiently. The higher rpm speed lets the Waring Megamix blend frozen ingredients much faster than most blenders on the market, thereby saving you valuable time in the kitchen.

The blender is very easy to operate, with a simple switch on the front that you can toggle from high to low to off. Also, the blade assembly and heavy duty blades were time tested under the heavy demands of bars and restaurants to ensure optimal performance.

The Megamix has a large, durable 48 ounce polycarbonate jar that is dishwasher safe. The jar has English and metric measurement lines on the side.

Waring stands behind the quality of its commercial blender with a 1 year warranty on the machine and a 5 year warranty on the motor.

Summary of the most helpful negative reviews:

Several reviewers say that this blender is noisy. There was a report of the jug cracking after about 5 years of use. One owner said a retractable cord would be a nice feature to add. There were a couple of reports of the lid not fitting properly on the top of the jar.
