The Purple Cow Smoothie

The Purple Cow is not your ordinary smoothie. It is an event which is looked forward to all day long. It is tasty, nutritious, and delightful to make and drink. I make them individually in a bullet type blender. No mass production here. The ingredients may be a little unconventional for your normal smoothies but we are going for more than traditional taste. We are going for a healthy lifestyle, nutrition, and an entertaining evening. This one is high in anti-oxidants, high in vitamins and minerals, high in fiber, and taste. This can be used as a energy drink, to give natural energy, without the unnatural “sugar high “ you get with the dreaded refined sugar and the deadly “high fructose corn syrup”. The list of ingredients is as follows:

Apple sauce
Blueberries
Black berries
Raspberries
Strawberries
Goat milk powder (or liquid milk)
Prunes or raisins
Chia seeds
Ice cubes
Yogurt (any flavor you like, but I usually keep with the berry theme)

The berries can be fresh or frozen, whichever you have at the moment. I cannot really tell you anything further from here, because I do not measure anything. I just throw things in, willy nilly, until the container is full then put the top on and blend. Of course if you have not figured it out yet, the more berries you put in the more purple it will become. Enjoy!
