How To Make Sesame Tahini In A Blender

Sesame tahini is another simple to make spread that you can create at home using your blender. It can really add zest to foods and is very nutritious.

When you are wondering how to make sesame tahini in a blender, you want to be sure you get the most accurate and the best ingredients for it. You should get all of the ingredients together in front of you before you start any of the mixing to be sure you have everything you need.

Ingredients

  • Three cups of sesame seeds (unhulled seeds provide the most nutrients, but tastes more bitter than the hulled type)
  • A half cup of olive oil
  • Baking sheets
  • A powerful blender to smooth the ingredients out

Directions

  1. Bake your sesame seeds at an oven temperature of around three hundred and fifty degrees Fahrenheit for around ten minutes, half way through stir them around, and stir again once you remove them from the oven.
  2. Once the seeds are baked lightly, you will then want to pour the sesame seeds in a high speed blender with the oil. Giving them time to mix together to create a paste like substance. Any powerful blender should work; you may have to change the amount of olive oil that you use to mix the paste the right consistency.
  3. Pour the paste into a jar that can be resealed once the paste is complete.

The paste can also be stored in the refrigerator for up to four weeks once blended. This paste is good on an assortment of different foods, and is a real taste enhancer. It is simple to make, and has an easy clean up. So why not make some tahini today using your blender.

Tips

  • Make sure the blender is a high power model so that you can adjust the mixture the way it should be.
  • Add various spices in the blender as well to suit your tastes, along with the seeds and the olive oil. This can give your tahini an added zing when spreading it on your food.

About Sesame Tahini

Tahini has numerous vitamins and nutrients including the amino acid methionine, which helps with liver detoxification, high protein and calcium, vitamins B and E, and essential fatty acids.

It is often billed as a substitute for peanut butter, but can be used as a dip for vegetables, a spread on bread, and as a butter substitute. Tahini is also one of the major ingredients in hummus, which is a middle-eastern chick pea based spread.
