Oster 4108 (Osterizer) - 10 Speed, 5 cup

I bought the Oster 4108 blender several years ago. I have always loved it. It works really well. It is very powerful and dependable. It has never given me a minute of trouble. I bought it, because I was trying a special diet. This diet required me to cook all of my meals. It was 6 meals a day, with constant cooking. Each diet recipe only made 2 servings, and each meal contained a ton of ingredients. This blender made my life easy. I remember making a diet chocolate mousse with the blender. It only took a few seconds. Since then, I’ve used it for a million things. I have to say that my favorite use for it is my many attempts to perfect the smoothie. It does all of the heavy lifting for me, and it only takes a few seconds.

The only draw back is the cleaning. I appreciate the fact that cleaning was made easy by the design of it, but the cleaning issue is the reason that I don’t use it more often. In the back of my mind, whenever I contemplate using it, I think about having to take it apart and clean all of the parts. So, I have to have a really strong craving for something in order to use it, or I have to have a very important reason to use it. I am always thankful that I have it, when I’m in a pinch. But, it seems like a bigger hassle than it really is.

It would be nice if cleaning could be made a bit easier and less stressful. I do fear making myself sick or guests, if I haven’t allowed the parts (especially the rubber liner) to dry thoroughly. I worry about injury, when I clean the blades. If the bottom of the blender could be removed, placed in the dishwasher, and cleaned in that manner, then I would use it every day.

Having a blender is a great way to get all of your fruits and vegetables in every day. Overall, I do love my blender.
