l-equip-blender

Everything sounds and looks good on the L'Equip blender. The L'Equip is very powerful, 900 watts, and comes with a very cool variable rpm speed dial. You can adjust the setting from 500 to 20,000 rpm's. We also like the smoothie stick that comes with this blender to help push down ingredients.

Aside from the array of great features, the L'Equip company sounds like it has great customer service. Of the few problems reported, response from L'Equip was prompt and efficient. And the good thing is most of the negative reviews concerning the blade assembly chipping over time have been corrected with a newer updated stainless steel blade assembly. Reviews since that time have been nothing but stellar.

We highly recommend this blender.

The Good

  • Good Pitcher - a strong polycarbonate
  • Good power output - 900 watts is very powerful
  • Precise control - the rpm speed dial on the front is an excellent feature and easy to work
  • Stable - the sturdy steel base won't jump around on you
  • Easy to clean - the jar is dishwasher safe. The blade assembly needs to be cleaned by hand though.

The Bad

  • Can be loud - at 900 watts don't expect the motor to be quiet.

GoBlendIt Consumer Reviews Summary

Summary of the most helpful positive reviews:

Owners like the power of this blender and enjoy the smoothie stick that comes with it, saying it's surprisingly useful. They also like the speed adjustment dial on the front. They also think that the tachometer is really cool looking.

Several long term (3 years+) owners commented on the excellent quality of the L'Equip brand. One had to get a replacement part and had a very pleasant experience with customer service at Kitchen Resource, which handles the L'Equip brand in the US.

Summary of the most helpful negative reviews:

Several reviews noted that the blade assembly starts to chip over time and metal flakes end up in what you are blending. L'Equip has since replaced these blade assemblies, in 2009, with stainless steel models, so you shouldn't have to worry about this in the future.

There were also some comments about the plastic jar being cheap.

This video is in Japanese, but you can still see the L'Equip blender in action. These guys blend ice, then bricks, and finally what looks like an ipod.
