The Hamilton Beach Commercial blender is built to be durable and long lasting which is ideal for a blender under $100. However it seems to be lacking in engine power.

When looking at commercial blenders you should focus on ease of use, durability, and power. The Hamilton Beach Commercial blender delivers on all but power. For a commercial blender it's weak, offering only 280 watts of power. For a restaurant or smoothie shop, you're going to need something in the 400 plus watt range. However for home use this is generally enough power and a bit higher than some of the personal blenders you see out there. The Magic Bullet blender for example has a 250 watt engine.

The good thing though about this blender is its durability and ease of use. It has a simple toggle switch on the front for high, low, and off settings, making it very easy to use. Most consumer reviews talk about how sturdy it is and how they have had this blender for years. It is also designed to have easy to replace parts in case they wear down. Hamilton Beach offers a 2 year warranty as well, to ensure that this blender is of high quality.

Overall, for home use, this blender is a good choice at under $100. It should be less prone to breakages and engine failure in the long term since it is designed for a commercial setting. The consumer reports see to be good and support this. For commercial use, however, you may need something with a little more power.

The Good

  • Durable - this unit should last for a long time
  • Easy to use - a simple switch on the front for high, low, and off speeds

The Bad

  • Weak for a commercial blender - you may want to look for a little more oomph if you're running a bar or restaurant.
