Blender Parts
Getting The Right Replacement Part for Your Blender

There are multiple blender parts that you can easily replace yourself without having to go out and buy a whole new blender. It can save you a lot of money in the long run.

Something that most people probably don't think about very often is the health of their kitchen appliances. These things are supposed to make life easier, so it makes sense that most people don't bother to think about how they work. But when something breaks down, it is important to know what it is that needs to be replaced so that you don't waste money buying the wrong part or just replacing the entire item. With that in mind, it is a good idea to learn about blender parts.

KitchenAid Blender Parts - Choose from our selection of KitchenAid Blender parts to repair your Kitchen Aid blender. You can save a lot of money by doing the repair yourself, and it's good for the environment.

Oster Blender Parts - We have a wide variety of Oster blender parts for you to choose from. You can find new Oster blades, rubber o-ring gaskets, replacement jar bases, and Oster blender containers.

oster-blender-blade

Blender Blades

One of the most important blender parts are the blades. The blades are what you are using to get everything chopped up and working together. There are a number of ways that this part of the appliance can break down, including getting chipped. It's a good idea to take the blades out and wash them separately whenever you clean the blender, and while they are out make sure they haven't been chipped. If they are starting to get dull, then it might be time to get new ones before a chunk of something gets stuck in them and they break the rest of the machine.

oster-glass-jar

Blender Jar

The most recognizable of blender parts is the glass or plastic jar that you place all the food in. This is the easiest part to see if it breaks down. Check it for cracks if you see things are leaking, and make sure that it hasn't gotten warped (if it's plastic) or that there aren't any flaws in the glass.

kitchenaid-blender-lid

Blender Lid

The lid is probably the part that you will have to worry about the least. The blender can still operate without the lid, although if you turn it to too high of a power it will spray food everywhere. In a pinch the lid can be replaced with anything from plastic wrap to a plate or a pan. This isn't recommended, but it will get the job done. Buying a new lid will probably not be too costly, but it can take a few days to order one and have it arrive. In the meantime, let your imagination run with how you can keep that smoothie from getting all over the kitchen.

oster-blender-bottom-cap

Bottom Screw Caps

There are usually large bottom screw caps that help to affix the jar to the base of a blender. These can be replaced by going to the company website of the manufacturer and ordering the specific one for your unit. These generally don't come in the same shapes and sizes for all different blenders, so getting one that fits is imperative. If it does not fit correctly then you are going to have one hell of a mess on your hands.

oster-blender-sealing-ring

Sealing Rings

Sealing rings or o-rings help to make sure that the blender jar doesn't leak from the bottom. They fit between the glass jar and the blender blades, and are held in place by a container bottom which screws into place. Generally these will last a long time as they are made out of durable rubber, but if you find your blender is starting to leak, than you may want to look to a warped or failing sealing ring as the cause. Replacement sealing rings can be easily purchased for most all blenders for just a couple of US dollars.

cuisinart-blender-driver-clutch

Blender Drive Clutch

The motor drive clutch is between the screw cap and the blades. This is the part that connects more directly to the motor and keeps the blades spinning correctly. It is also what helps to control the speed when you change the settings. If this piece is broken or not in place correctly, the appliance may still be working, but it will probably make odd sounds and may create a bit of a burning smell. It is highly recommended to replace this if there is any problem with it.

Base

The base of each blender is going to be a little different. The motor inside can be a lot different from model to model. Some will only have one or two different settings, while some have over ten. Unless you have some knowledge of working with electronics and small motors, it is probably a better idea to take this part in to a professional instead of trying to fix it yourself if there is a problem. If you are convinced that you can fix it by yourself despite not really knowing much about it, make sure to unplug the blender base before opening it up. Otherwise you could be shocked.

The most important thing to remember is that you don't always have to replace a blender if there is a problem with it. Though they seem small, there are many different blender parts inside, and each one can usually be replaced. Though it isn't always in your best interest to replace parts time and time again, as blender parts can start to add up in price over time and new blenders aren't always super expensive. But if the one that you have is really good or isn't made anymore, then it might be a good idea to keep going back and fixing it up. A well made appliance can last for a very long time and doesn't need to be replaced every couple of years, though many people simply choose to replace them instead of bothering with repairs.
