How To Choose the Best Blender

  1. How do you plan on using the blender? - There are many different blenders designed for different kitchen tasks. You have to look at how you plan on using the blender. Do you make a lot of thick smoothies with lots of ice? Then you need to look at our article on the Best Smoothie Maker. Are you on the go constantly and get tired of having to always clean up a big blender? Do you like the idea of single serving carry it with you blender mugs? Then look at our list of the Best Single Serving Personal Blenders. Do you blend lots of soup; is your kitchen small, or full of things on the counters, or do you want something that's just very easy to handle? Then you'll need to read our list of the Best Hand Immersion Blenders. Of course if you fit into multiple categories here, or just want a great kitchen blender that is suitable to many different tasks, then check out the Top 5 Best Overall Countertop Kitchen Blenders, listed above.

  2. Features - Does the blender have all of the features that you need based on how you plan to use it? You need to look at the capacity or size of the jar based on the quantities you plan on blending. You need to look at how powerful the motor is on the machine. A more powerful motor generally means that tougher ingredients, especially ice, will be grinded to a smooth consistency. Are the parts dishwasher safe? This can save you a lot of time in cleaning up. These are just some of the features that you need to evaluate when deciding what is the best blender for you. For a complete list and full description of each of the features we list on our site, read our Blender Reviews Buyer's Guide.

  3. Consumer Reviews - The blender you're looking at may perform great in testing labs, but how does it hold up over time. How do a large number of people feel about its performance? Looking at just one rating lab or magazine article does not really give you enough information. You need to look at the experiences of actual owners using the blenders at their homes. And the more the better. On GoBlendIt.com we've read through hundreds of consumer reviews and summarized those neatly for you for each of our in-depth blender reviews. On each list of the best blenders, simply click on the "Read Review" button to see the full review of each of our top rated blenders.

  4. Price - Is the blender a good value, reasonably priced and within your budget? For almost all of the blenders we've reviewed, you tend to get what you pay for. The Vita Mix 4500 and the Blendtec Total Blender are both over $350 and are the two best blenders on our overall list. You can expect both of these to handle all of the blending tasks you throw at them and have them last for many years. If the blender is very cheap, under $50 US, then we almost always see a lot of reports in the consumer reviews of it breaking down within a year, or earlier. There are a few gems in the rough though, like the Black and Decker Crush Master, which made number four on our top five list and is only about $30. Just keep in mind when you are out pricing blenders, if you get a cheap one, expect to have to replace it before the year is out, or just after the 1 year warranty runs out - ouch.

By taking into account this information, and the data we have collected on this site to put together our lists of the best blenders, you can be sure that you are going to get a wonderful, high quality blender that meets your needs for many years to come.
